Blondes and gray hair have the most fun with indigo ! You can get blue hair and purple hair, blue hair streaks and purple hair streaks with indigo on light colour hair. That’s because using indigo natural hair dye on its own will darken already dark hair colours and give semi-permanent blue and purple colour on light colour hair. Although indigo is semi permanent it’s hard to get rid of fast, but fairly easy to dye over it with henna or with conventional hair dye; eventually it should fade out completely, but timings may differ from person to person; allow up to a couple of months for it to completely fade away and disappear on its own, possibly longer. Caution : you can indigo over bleached hair if you want blue hair colour or blue to purple hair colour, but don’t bleach over indigoed hair unless you don’t mind the possibility of it going turquoise green.Despite its rather off putting smell, indigo is kind to hair and anti dandruff too. Add just a little cidar vinegar and an egg to indigo paste for extra natural hair conditioning and glossy hair.
TO GET BLUE OR PURPLE WITH NATURAL INDIGO HAIR DYE YOU NEED TO START WITH A LIGHT HAIR STARTING COLOUR (see blue and purple hair colours further down this page)
